The VinaFIS Expo 2026 is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development along with the Vietnam Fisheries Society (VinaFIS) - an official organization that plays a comprehensive representative role for the entire fisheries sector. This is the only comprehensive event that creates a forum to connect all links in the value chain: from farming, harvesting, processing, exporting to technology and supporting services.

Event Activities
Fish Releasing Ceremony
The Fish Release Ceremony is not only a traditional liberation ritual of Vietnam and many Asian countries, but also carries the meaning of protecting and restoring aquatic resources in the face of overexploitation. Since the Ministry of Fisheries (now the Ministry of Agriculture & Environment) designated April 1 — Vietnam Fisheries Tradition Day — as the official day for fish release, this activity has been held annually nationwide, with tens of thousands of fish released, including endangered species. On the occasion of VinaFIS Expo 2026 taking place in April 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Fisheries Society will organize the Fish Release Festival with the participation of WWF, representatives of regional fisheries associations, and international embassies, contributing to promoting Vietnam’s traditional culture to friends around the world
